Mahaliel Sha-Bethea
CEO:
Mahaliel Sha-Bethea aka, Sensei Mo is the CEO and visionary force behind Hit Hard Films. He began his creative journey as a playwright, writing three acclaimed Off Broadway productions: Sun People Turn Ice, We Must Eat The Black Root, and Malcolm’s Time. While working in the theater, he also trained extensively in martial arts, eventually becoming one of the top-ranked fighters in the world. After winning the World Championships, he was invited by movie star Wesley Snipes to serve as his martial arts instructor and bodyguard.
Sensei Mo studied theatre with a minor in film during college, but his time with Snipes gave him a unique education-reading and analyzing every script that crossed Snipes’ desk. In the early 2000’s after fighting Jet Li in The One, Sensei Mo wrote his first screenplay, The Empty Hands. When he didn’t get the lead role in The Transporter, the legendary Isaac Hayes suggested that Sensei Mo direct and star in his own film, The Empty Hands. His passion for uplifting emerging talent led him to found Hit Hard Films, a production company committed to putting gifted artists on the big screen.
In 2015, he wrote and directed Love Sex and Kung Fu, starring Onique Bourne, follow by Blood Mixed in 2019. The project was delayed because of the pandemic followed by a union strike but not even covid couldn’t stop the Hit Hard Team from making a movie, a testament to the resilience and dedication of our team. Blood Mixed is Sinners with a karate kick and it’s Coming Soon.
Michelle Bethea
Executive Producer:
Michelle Bethea serves as both Executive Producer and Vice President of Hit Hard Films, bringing unmatched dedication and versatility to every production. Known for her hands-on approach, Michelle does whatever it takes to bring a project to life- whether she’s stepping in as the on set nurse, handling costume design, doing makeup, or even catering. Her ability to juggle multiple roles with skill and grace has earned her the nickname “Super Woman “ or “Set Queen”. Most recently, her exceptional work in costume design for the film Blood Mixed has drawn industry attention and may earn her an award for Best Costume Design.
Robert Marder
Executive Producer:
A season entertainment veteran, Robert Marder brings decades of experience to the Hit Hard Films Team. In the late 1990s, he owned a Broadway theater, where he championed bold storytelling and emerging talent. In the early 2000s he produced the gritty crime action film, Narc starring Ray Liotta. Long before Ice Cube’s Big3 League, Robert launched Still Hoopin’- a groundbreaking 3-on-3 tournament that united former NBA players with legendary streetballers. We’re proud to have his visionary spirit and producing power on board at Hit Hard, LLC.
Julio Fernandez
Executive Producer:
Julio Fernandez, the Director of Operations, is an Executive Producer who plays a critical leadership role within our film company. He oversees daily operations, manages staff across departments, and ensures the seamless execution of projects. With a sharp eye for talent, Julio evaluates team performance and cultivates an environment of growth and collaboration. His strategic vision and hands-on approach makes him an integral part of driving both creative and operational excellence.
